Jason Boog Always Screws Up His Goals
Inspired by storyteller Garrison Keillor, blogger Liz Strauss, and YouTube prophet Chartreuse, I decided to throw my hat into Darren Rowse's Blog Goals Group Writing Project.

We were supposed to write about our aspirations as bloggers, so I decided to turn my WYSIWYG Talent Show story into a lo, lo, lo-fi YouTube story about how my goals always go awry.

I apologize for the low-fi transfer. This is my first ever attempt at video storytelling (one of my goals!), and I would love some feedback.

This is the first installment of Storytelling Friday...

Jason, That was wonderful!

Dear Liz,

I'm glad you liked it! If more people enjoy it, I think I might make a habit of telling YouTube stories every once in awhile.

Great post...enjoyed it. One thought was I would have enjoyed it even more if you weren't reading it off of a piece of paper, but just engaged the camera. Fun though, really got a kick out of it. Cheers.

Thanks for the visit, all the way from Jersey Girl! Memorizing things is SO SO SO hard for me, it's terrible. I really appreciate the comment, I'll try it out next time...

BTW - not only was your approach to Darren's project totally cool - but I love your glasses!

It's great! I like the idea of participating in Darren's project with a video. It's just a pity it wasn't possible without reading off the paper. But you should definitely do more of this!

Funny stuff. You're a born performer, Jason!

I thought it was really good. I liked the way that you really lit up when you told the story, it seemed really important to you.

Would like to see more!

Dear Max,
I'm so glad you liked it. Your comment really made my day. I'm working on new video stuff right now...

Cheers,
Jason Boog

» Web Video and Poetry from ThePublishingSpot
Too many people I know treat YouTube like a playground full of idiots--too vast and stupid to merit attention. Writers won't take YouTube seriously until real writers show up on YouTube. Video pioneers like Robert Bruce are not alone anymore.... [Read More]

That was great Jason! Maybe one day I'll try my hand at video storytelling or poetry even...All I need is a camera and the nerve...Thanks for sharing.
